Photography Workshop- Composition and Preparation for Official Photography
To continuously enhance the official photography skills of our school’s photography team, the Science Laboratory organized the 2025 “Photography Workshop Series” on May 9, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM. The workshop invited Gene Wang, a seasoned professional with extensive experience in visual media and photojournalism, as the guest speaker. He delivered a lecture titled "Composition and Preparation for Official Photography."
The workshop content was clear and insightful, focusing on the following key points:
1.Principles and Techniques of Composition: Mr. Wang used numerous example photos to explain common composition methods in event photography. He also addressed the challenges of composing shots in dynamic settings and shared effective solutions for overcoming these difficulties.
2.Preparation and On-Site Observation: The course introduced a step-by-step approach to pre-event planning, including equipment preparation, site scouting, and key observation points during the event. Emphasis was placed on the importance of quick adaptability and sensitivity in capturing key moments.
3.Hands-On Practice and Feedback: To conclude the session, Mr. Wang prepared professional photography equipment used for actual event documentation, allowing participants to experience the shooting process firsthand. He provided one-by-one guidance, offering advice on composition, framing, and shooting angles, helping students develop essential on-site photography skills.
After the workshop, many participants shared that the workshop was highly beneficial for practical photography applications, particularly in improving their compositional judgment and adaptability during live events. Some students also expressed a strong interest in having similar workshops in the future to further enhance their photography abilities.
